The Joint FAO/IAEA Division of Nuclear Techniques in Food and Agriculture was established by the FAO and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in 1964.

This Division works to support and promote the safe and appropriate use of nuclear and related technologies by the FAO/IAEA Member States in food and agriculture.

This month Codex visited IAEA in Vienna to explore the very central role that nuclear science has played in the development of international food standards.
